The NCC activities of this academic year had been quite fruitful. Cadets of the school successfully participated in Trekking camps at Tirupati and Belgaum.
The Cadets involved had been G. Aahlad Naidu, T. Sandeep, P. Shiva Ramacharan, V. Vivekananda, MD. Thouheed and K. Sashi.
They had a good experience at Belgaum visiting the commando training centre of the army and the beauty of the Western Ghats. The Tirupati Trek involved the climb of the holy place and visit of the outskirts.
Cadet S. Thushar patel qualified to represent the Warangal group at the Inter group competitions camp at Secunderabad. This is the launch pad for the local Republic day and Republic day camps at Secunderabad and Delhi respectively.
The Director and the staff appreciated the efforts of the cadets. They were also appreciated by Commanding officer of 10(T) Bn NCC. Wgl col. Pavan Dhingra.
Students grow in various directions; their interests are kindled by various stimuli; their awareness expands in direct proportion to multi dimensional exposure directed at them. Recognizing this, inter-house & inter-school debates, quizzes ,competitions, Speeches by eminent personalities, exhibitions are all organized to build an interest and awareness in students, What is happening in the world around them and equip them with the required confidence and ability.
Creativity is not just a part of education. It is also a way of imparting education, often more effective than books. We constantly conceptualize and implement newer and more innovative ways of making learning fun for students. One such way is providing students with multiple outlets for expressing themselves
A new theme is introduced in the assembly every week and a class is given responsibility of interpreting the theme in their own creative ways in front of the entire school. The theme changes based on festivals, special occasions, events, etc.
Greenwood has Basket ball ,Volley ball, Throw ball,Foot ball ,Kho Kho and Cricket grounds. Athletic events and sports day celebrations are conducted in the same ground. An indoor badminton and table tennis courts are in the hostel building. A skating ground is adjacent to the basket ball court.
The Psychology of learning by doing and experiencing the historical facts is well documented in Educational field. In order to have thin realized the school management led the outgoing batch of students to the places of Delhi and its out skirts.
The group ably led by the Director G. Bharadwaja Naidu, CAO’s V.V.V. Naveen Kumar, Prabhu Kumar and AO’s P. Sambhashiva, T. Pavan and a group of teachers visited the following.
Places: Agra fort, Taj Mahal, Aksharadam Temple, Mathura, Lotus temple, Humayun tomb, Fatehpur sikri, Rajghat, Indira Gandhi memorial, Nehru memorial building, 10 Jan Path, Rastrapathi Bhavan and Qutubminar.
This was a great opportunity for children to learn about the history of our nation and its culture.
